Police should educate 2 wheeler riders

Sharing a scary incident yesterday evening, which fortunately ended all good by grace of God -

Yesterday, me & Seema were returning after meeting Col Mrigendra Singh (retd) from KT Nagar. Just before Gitti Khadan T-Point on Kamlmeshwar Road, a couple were on a bike in front of my car with probably a year old Girl on bike petrol tank, but riding safely on left side of the road.

Distance between my car & this bike must have been around 10 meters with speed around 20-30 km/hr due to usual rush at this patch of the road.

This year old Girl, most probably felt asleep and lost her balance thereby falling on road towards right side of the bike and came tumbling to almost centre of the road. Thank God my car was at safe distance and I could stop may car almost immediately. The girl was instantly picked by another pedestrian lady and although she was crying, but we could analyse, she was perfect.

But, her Mother who saw her little Girl tumbling on road and coming in front of my car as she viewed back, she almost jumped from bike as she was sitting with both her legs on left side of bike. But she immediately sat on the road, almost lost her breath due to shock and was unable to speak for almost few minutes.

Had this bike much closer to my car, as I was about to overtake this bike from my side, anything could have happened and without any fault, I would have to face many legal issues.

I can very well understand that Families due to constrain use two wheelers for commuting with at times 2-3 children on bike. #PLEASE avoid this, when such a small kid is along on bike or at least use safety belt back to hold such child.

Even me and Seema took some time to collect our senses after this mishap, which could have been a tragic one.

Thank God

Destiny is supreme

Unfortunate Bus accident on Mumbai Pune Express Highway news in newspaper reminded me of my experience few years back - fraction of a second matters a lot.

I along with two friends Vishal Sahni & Vicky Osan took a taxi (Tata Indica) from Pune to Mumbai at around 1 pm. Vicky sat on co-driver seat, I was exactly behind driver and Vishal next to me.

On our way, I was busy on laptop, so practically all were quite, vehicle driving at 100km/hour plus speed.
Suddenly Vishal slowly tapped on right shoulder of driver to stop the car on the road side. As vehicle came to an halt, Vishal went out and sat road side with both of his hands on his head. We all got down and asked what happened? Terribly shaken Vishal replied "ड्राईवर सो गया था गाड़ी चलाते चलाते और गाड़ी की स्पीड 100 के ऊपर थी". Vishal further said he saw driver's closed eyes for few seconds in back view mirror of the car.

When asked to driver he admitted that he hasn't slept for whole night as this was his third trip Mumbai Pune since a evening before. He washed his face with water, however in second attempt again found his eyes dropping. From there onwards, I drove the car to Mumbai and asked Driver to sleep in back seat.

Reason for sharing this is, had Vishal not seen driver sleeping, our vehicle could have dashed against anything at that speed and the car's poor safety features could have been enough to kill us all instantly or avoiding us, someone else could have met with an gruesome accident.

Destiny is certainly above all, however human error & carelessness plays very crucial part in changing lives of many, including future of their family.
